CEDC Welcomes 2024 Summer Intern VTSU Isabella Mertens

CEDC welcomes Isabella Mertens for her summer 2024 internship position. A current student at the Vermont State University Lyndon campus where she majors in visual communications with a concentration in digital advertising, and minors in business, she is eager to learn more about the inner economic workings on the local and small business level. This will provide her with an opportunity to apply her experience in graphic design and marketing communications. She lives in the Northeast Kingdom with her family and participates in local community organizations such as the Lunenburg Historical Society. As an active student and an Essex County resident just across the river from Coös County, she has been able to apply her skills in graphic design and marketing to aid her community in volunteer projects.

By interning with CEDC this summer she would like to improve her ability to assist her community by learning more about the local economic environment and small business development.  She plans on graduating from VTSU - Lyndon next year with her bachelor's degree in visual communications and hopes her academic accomplishments will help her in her passion to help rural communities thrive.
