About Us
What is a Regional Economic Development Corporation?
A regional economic development corporation is a public-private partnership that works to promote economic growth and development in a specific region or area. We work throughout Coös County to attract new businesses and industries, retain existing businesses, and create jobs. As a part of our mission, we provide a range of services to businesses, including assistance with site selection, workforce development, and access to financing and incentives.
Here is an overview of our recent achievements:
Provided over 1,200 hours of business coaching
Approved 31 grant applications, including 3 pop-up business grants that created 7 jobs and assisted 3 childcare facilities
Assisted in creating an Electric Utility Savings program for businesses equaling a collaborative savings of $500,000 dollars a year for 3 years
Developed a workforce housing fund
Successfully completed the 2 year pilot program of the SBA Navigator program - specifically designed to reach underserved communities
Hired new permanent staff and interns
Completed a new 3 year Strategic Plan
Provided Workshops on workforce housing, farming grants and business permitting

CEDC will serve the Coös County business community as a preferred partner, driving key initiatives to build and strengthen our economy.
Our Purpose
This will be achieved by providing business coaching and community education, managing an economic development loan and grant program, and collaborating with local, regional, state, and national planning and community investment organizations. Enhance CEDC’s capacity to do the work.
