CEDC Workshop Series On Youth Workforce Development
CEDC is working to advance current workforce development programs targeted toward local youth in collaboration with Department of Education, ApprenticeshipNH, and White Mountains Regional High School. The first in a series of business workshops will be a webinar held on August 30th at 4pm. This webinar will educate our local businesses on the latest variety of financial incentives and reimbursable costs available to them when they choose to develop internship/work opportunities for our future generations. Even if you have participated in the Career Technical Education (CTE) program in the past you won’t want to miss this. This is not only a good return on investment for the businesses but also our youth.
This webinar will lead into a Job Fair/Career Panel Discussion in late October with an emphasis on peer-to-peer relationships to expand on the already active youth workforce in Coös County. The goal of the career panels will not only be for students to get a true understanding of what the business or industry is about, but also what it is like to be at the business. Overall, CEDC is excited to be a nexus for businesses to better connect to the youth job candidate pool and keeping people in the North Country through these types on hands-on learning experiences. Providing this opportunity is just the first step in creating a strong workforce for the local economy.
